Coordinator
Tommaso Frattini
Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics, Management and Quantitative Methods of the University of Milan. He is also a Research Fellow CEPR, at CReAM, the Centre for Research and Analysis of Migration at University College London (UCL), at Centro Studi Luca d'Agliano (LdA) and at IZA. He received his PhD in Economics from University College London in 2010. His main research interests are in Applied Microeconomics, Labour Economics and the Economics of Migration. His work has been published in journals such as the Review of Economic Studies, the Journal of the European Eocnomic Association, the Economic Journal, the Journal of Economic Geography, and Economic Policy among others.

Gabriele Cugini
Research assistant at the Migration Observatory of Centro Studi Luca d’Agliano and Collegio Carlo Alberto. He holds a MSc in Economics and Political Science from the University of Milan and a BSc in Management from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. His research interests include Economics of Migration, Environmental Economics, Political Economy and Health Economics.

Angela Dalmonte
Angela Dalmonte holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Milan. In 2023-2024 she worked at the Migration Observatory of Centro Studi Luca d'Agliano, investigating skill-mismatch in the labor market and the incidence and patterns of overeducation. She is currently pre-doctoral fellow at the Department of Economics at Sciences Po Paris. Her research interests include the Economics of Education, Labor Economics and Economics of Migration.

Irene Solmone
Irene Solmone is PhD student in Economics at Bocconi University. She has worked as a field coordinator and research assistant at University Milan Bicocca during the years 2022-2023, and as research assistant at the Migration Observatory of Centro Studi Luca d’Agliano and Collegio Carlo Alberto during the years 2021-2022. She has also worked as research assistant and podcast anchor for lavoce.info between 2020 and 2021. MSc in Economics at the Universities of Pavia and Hohenheim. BSc in Economics at the University of Rome Tor Vergata with a research thesis with which she contributed to the reconstruction of income distribution in post-unification Italy. Her research interests include inequality, Development Economics, and migration.

Maxime Pirot
Maxime Pirot is an economist at the Research and Statistic Directorate of the French Ministry of Labour (DARES). He holds a Master's degree from Paris School of Economics (PSE) and Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. Since October 2021, he has been a junior researcher at the Department of Economics, Management and Quantitative Methods, University of Milan. He has also been a research assistant at the Paris School of Economics.

He is a Ph.D. student in Economics at the Institute for Social and Economic Research of the University of Essex. He previously worked as a junior researcher at the Migration Observatory of Centro Studi Luca d’Agliano and Collegio Carlo Alberto. He holds a MSc in Economics and Political Science from the University of Milan. His research interests include the empirical analysis of education policies, Labor Economics and Economics of Migration.

Pietro Campa
PhD candidate at the University of Geneva (CH). He holds a BSc in International Relations from the University of Turin and a MSc in Economics and Political Science from the University of Milan. He is generally interested in Empirical Microeconomics and in the link between socio-economic mobility and individuals’ lifetime choices such as education and migration. Currently, the main focus of his research is in intergenerational mobility and Urban Economics. In 2020 he worked at the Migration Observatory of Centro Studi Luca d'Agliano, investigating migration and integration patterns in Europe.

Natalia Vigezzi
Natalia Vigezzi is a PhD candidate at the Department of Economics of the University of Toronto. She holds and BSc and a MSc in Economics from Bocconi University. Before starting her PhD, she worked at Centro Studi Luca d’Agliano between 2017 and 2019 where she participated in the research activities of the Migration Observatory.
